2025 | Walking as Yoga
2025 had many tough days.
And somewhere along the way, walking became my most honest practice.
Not always to new or fancy places - just stepping out of home to step out of the monkey mind.
By noticing.
Sun. Trees, Moon. Flowers.
Shops. Cafes. Restaurants. People.
Breath. Thoughts.
Noticing whatever came along.
Just walking. Just noticing.
Teaching yoga has deepened my sadhana in many ways, but on some days it has also made it harder to step out of the teacher’s mind while doing my own practice. On such days, walking became a savior. Asking nothing but presence. And in that, I found slowing down. Ease. Peace. Almost sanity.
And in this reflection, yet again, I realize -
Yoga is not just asana.
Yoga is being with yourself and with life as it is.
Yoga is seeing things as they are.
Sometimes asana is yoga.
Sometimes sitting is yoga.
Sometimes walking is yoga.
Yoga can happen anywhere.
The mat is just one way in.
Walking, in 2025, became one of the most meaningful ways for me.
